Over at Doctor Who News Page and Reviews In Time And Space each month, we're providing reviews of each and every one of AudioGo's Destiny of the Doctor audio drama range. In August, it's the turn of Paul McGann's Eighth Doctor to take centre-stage, with India Fisher narrating the Alan Barnes release Enemy Aliens.
Sadly, as I reveal in the 2* review of this eighth instalment, all does not go according to plan. Enemy Aliens has its moments, yet overall it's simply not a compelling successor to its relatively compelling predecessors. Perhaps the challenge of reimagining a one-off television Doctor proved too much for Barnes, perhaps not. Certainly that seems to be the case judging by this mediocre narrative experience. It's safe to say that this particular adventure has diehard Eighth Doctor fans only as its target audience.
