Assassin's Creed Franchise Ending Teased

Ubisoft confirm a J.K. Rowling situation of their writers knowing how things will wrap up in advance!
Ubisoft Montreal have today revealed a few intriguing details on the future of the Assassin's Creed science-fiction video game franchise. Although at present, the series runs on an annual basis with new yearly instalments including Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Assassin's Creed III and now Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, that seemingly won't always be the case, with a planned conclusion to the main storyline of the franchise already laid out at Ubi.

Here's what CEO Yves Guillemot had to say on the matter of the Creed series' potential ending: "We have an idea of where the end is, what the end is. Depending on the setting, depending on what fans want, we've given ourselves room to fit more in this arc. But there is an end! We're now able to seed stuff earlier and earlier in our games. So for example in Assassin's Creed IV we have Edward, who was seeded in Assassin's Creed III. But there's a lot more stuff in our game that is hinting at other possibilities." This is certainly an interesting development, echoing J.K. Rowling's recent revelation that she wrote Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' Epilogue before she even finished drafting Philosopher's Stone, meaning that both she and seemingly Ubisoft had clear plans for their respective franchises well in advance.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag launches on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Nintendo WiiU and PC on November 1st.
