More The Fantastic Four Details Revealed

20th Century Fox exec Mark Millar provides more hints about just what we can expect from the 2015 superhero film reboot.
20th Century Fox executive producer Mark Millar has today revealed new hints on the studio's upcoming reboot superhero movie The Fantastic Four. Set in an alternate universe to 2005's Fantastic Four and its 2007 sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, this new instalment in the franchise will feature a completely revamped cast and pitch the titular superhero team against an unnamed new antagonist.

Here's a quick round-up on what Millar had to say regarding The Fantastic Four, previewed by SFX in their new interview:

  • ON GETTING THE FANTASTIC FOUR RIGHT- "For The Fantastic Four, all the [production team] have to do is make it great. It sounds obvious and it is. Sam Raimi gave us a great Spider-Man. Christopher Nolan gave us a great Batman. So a brilliant director is probably the most important thing for a great Fantastic Four. Tim Story was an odd choice for [the original] Fantastic Four, but when you have Josh Trank [director of Chronicle], you know you're in safe hands!"
  • ON CONNECTIONS WITH THE X-MEN FOX FRANCHISE- "Without question I think you're going to see some of those guys turning up in each other's movies. I think the most exciting thing in superhero movies, until Avengers Assemble came along, was when Nick Fury showed up in Iron Man. Even though it was a guy with an eye patch, it was really cool- and I expect we will see more of that."
It's exciting to hear that 20th Century Fox may finally be enabling some form of crossover material in their own sector of the Marvel universe. While fans will undoubtedly still feel betrayed in that Marvel Studios, Fox and Sony appear unwilling to consider a joint Civil War, Avengers Disassembled or Siege production, at the very least the concept of an X-Men and Fantastic Four crossover project is extremely enticing indeed...

The Fantastic Four blasts into cinemas worldwide on March 6th, 2015.
