The Four Horsemen will return, as Legendary Pictures reveal a follow-up to one of 2013's surprise hits is coming to cinemas...
Legendary Pictures have today announced the production of a sequel to their action thriller movie Now You See Me for release in the near future. Starring Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine, the first instalment in this previously little-known franchise proved to be a qualified surprise hit in this writer's opinion, earning a worthy 4* score here at On-Screen, and better yet predicted to gross $275 million worldwide this Summer.
What's already provoking speculation amongst fans of the original is the matter of what form the follow-up's narrative will take. It's safe to say that the first film wrapped up the majority of its story arc threads in a satisfying manner, even if one or two elements were resolved a little too quickly, as we confirmed in our review last month. That said, when it comes to the realms of magical heists, there's no shortage of potential avenues the screenplay writers can exploit in future instalments, and discovering the next chapter should be one of the most enticing prospects for film fans in the months ahead!
Now You See Me 2 will enter production next year, ready for a release in cinemas worldwide come Summer 2015.
