Ubisoft Montreal have this week released two new gameplay demo videos for their upcoming fantasy historical video game Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Retailing on two generations of console hardware, this latest instalment in the hit franchise takes place decades before the events of Assassin's Creed III, during an age of piracy and corruption, with new protagonist Edward Kenway at the helm (and yes, that metaphorical pun was fully intended).
The two new gameplay videos showcase a handful of side missions in Black Flag, focusing mainly on the free-roaming exploratory nature of the open seas the developers are animating. These include missions themed around waging war on a naval fort and descending to the depths of the ocean in order to hunt for rare nautical treasures while avoiding deadly amphibious creatures. Both videos are definitely worth a look for any Assassin's Creed fan concerned that the title may not offer much in the way of content beyond its main campaign...
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag ships (again, pun fully intended) on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Nintendo WiiU and PC on November 1st.
