DICE bring us a new instalment in the most acclaimed Star Wars video games franchise- but right now, it's in a time far, far away...EA Games have today confirmed a release window for their upcoming third-person shooter strategy video game Star Wars: Battlefront III. Announced at E3 2013 with a brief teaser trailer on Hoth, this new project is developed by DICE Studios of Battlefield fame, and marks the first instalment in EA's Star Wars efforts since their acquirement of the licensed franchise earlier this year.
Details on the project at hand are pretty scarce right now, but it's clear that EA intend to bring the initial release in their licensed agreement in line with the intended release window of Star Wars Episode VII. By launching what should with any luck be an extremely successful product such as Battlefront III, the developers should be able to kick-start their success, as well as likely breathing extra life back into the franchise along with J.J. Abrams' blockbuster continuation of George Lucas' coveted sci-fi film franchise.
Star Wars: Battlefront III will ship on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in Summer 2015.
