Can you create video games all by your lonesome and play other self-created titles on the Xbox One? The truth is here.
Microsoft Game Studios have today announced new amendments made to their Xbox One console policies surrounding independent game titles. Previously, Xbox One hardware was adapted via region lock and other systems in a manner that could not be tapped by players to create their own games. As of today, however, that's no longer the case- self-publishing of games, Kinect features, Cloud features and achievements will be available to all players from the first day of the console's worldwide release later this year.
The impressive decision comes a few weeks after the company's applauded reversal of its DRM policies. This involved removing systems such as Family Sharing and 24-hour online checks in order to allow players with weaker or no internet connections to still join into the next generation of video games hardware. With this new adaptation comes further evidence of Microsoft's keenness to respond to even the most minor criticisms launched at its latest piece of hardware, promising great prospects in terms of a company that's clearly willing to shape its vision around the needs and desires of its consumers.
Xbox One launches worldwide this November.
