The Cap is back in 2014- discover our first teaser image of days to come now...
Marvel Studios have today unveiled the first promotional teaser poster for their upcoming superhero film sequel Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Set a few months after the events of Captain America: The First Avenger and the hit Avengers Assemble, this new motion picture focuses on Steve Rogers as he tries to integrate himself into a modern-day America while dealing with the sudden reemergence of an old ally-turned-foe.
Predictably enough, this first poster (below) remains rather ambiguous in its initial meaning. We see Cap's shield with its iconic United States flag red, white and blue paint-work scratched off, and the silver metallic original colouring of the shield now plain to see. Whether this is a metaphorical tease of secrets regarding the comic book hero's past being revealed here as per the film's adaptation of the Winter Soldier arc remains to be seen. Either way, it seems that as ever, darker days are being alluded to for this ambitious second outing.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier ricochets into cinemas worldwide on April 4th, 2014.
