Now ComicCon has concluded, you'd be forgiven for thinking that things would calm down on the entertainment industry's plate- indeed, your assertion would only be correct to a minor extent. This coming week brings with it a trio of worthy new releases which should provide a fitting conclusion to the rather busy month of July.
Here's our guide to all of the hottest news releases landing on our shores during the next seven days. Dive in...
NOW! THAT'S WHAT I CALL MUSIC 85- As ever, the Now! franchise of compilation albums remains something of an acquired taste for all-but-mainstream listeners. Nevertheless, the eighty-fifth instalment in the run features some cracking recent hits including Love Me Again, Radioactive, Lights (The One), Dear Darlin', Another Love, Gentleman and It's A Beautiful Day (because who doesn't need Buble in their life, eh?) that should entice series veterans once again. (Monday 22nd)
THE WOLVERINE- Is this the X-Men standalone movie we've been waiting for? Initial reports on The Wolverine seem to be mixed, but the general consensus is that it's at least a lot better than X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which is a great start! Expect our definitive verdict on the movie not too long after release, but moreso expect a rollockingly fun blockbuster with plenty of heart and action alike! (Thursday 25th)
PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SHADOW AND THE FLAME- This HD remake of one of the most beloved classic Prince of Persia sequels may seem like an odd choice for Ubisoft rather than a fully-fledged new console instalment. Nevertheless, this is what we have, and fans owning iOS and Android devices may well want to consider picking it up. (Thursday 25th)
AND THERE'S MORE- We've got two more brand new DVD and Blu-Ray releases of hit films out tomorrow too, with GI Joe: Retaliation and Jack The Giant Slayer both headed to retailers everywhere!
AND NEXT WEEK...RED 2 and The Smurfs 2 burst into cinemas worldwide, while Sherlock: The Reicenbach Fall hits BBC One for a second time in a quieter week for the world of entertainment.
