As ever, as 2013 progresses, so too does the extent of BBC Worldwide's impressive Doctor Who 50th Anniversary merchandise-based celebrations. Today, the company has announced an intriguing new range of DVD releases for later this year.
Titled The Monster Collection, the range of six different antagonist-themed releases compiles together the first available classic era tale and the most recent new series tale regarding classic enemies we've seen back since the show's 2005 revival. It's an inspired gambit by BBC Worldwide in the midst of the 50th Anniversary, and while we may think it a missed opportunity for them to have skipped the Ice Warriors in this venture, the range at least looks a shoe-in for strong sales come Christmastime.
