Walt Disney Pictures have today released the first theatrical trailer for their upcoming biographical drama movie Saving Mr Banks. This new motion picture from the studio focuses on the creation of one of its greatest hit films, Mary Poppins, its narrative based around author P.L. Travers and her struggle to have her acclaimed novel adapted into a fully-fledged piece of cinema.
If that weren't already intriguing enough for long-term Disney viewers, then the cast on board should only sweeten the deal. Tom Hanks is on board as none other than Walt Disney himself, while Emma Thompson takes on the role of Travers and Paul Giamatti her chauffeur among other yet-to-be-revealed stars. There's a strong chance that this flick could be something truly special, a heartfelt insight into the inner workings and history of Disney and thus a sublime note on which to end the year of 2013 in the United States.
Saving Mr Banks floats by umbrella into US cinemas on December 17th and into UK cinemas on January 14th, 2014.
