Get ready for the ultimate DC Movies crossover, as the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight battle on the big screen...
Warner Brothers and DC Movies have today announced the production of Man of Steel 2 for release in two years' time. The news came at the former studio's ComicCon panel, which also featured Warner Brothers' upcoming projects Gravity, The LEGO Movie and Edge of Tomorrow, culminating in this shocking revelation in the show's closing moments.
Of course, that's by no means the most exciting part of this confirmation: that particular award goes to the fact that Batman has been announced to feature in this second instalment. The Dark Knight will be played by a new actor in the movie as part of the rebooted DC Cinematic Universe, with this crossover motion picture heavily rumoured as a precursor to a fully fledged Justice League film to come later in this decade. Unsurprisingly, the audience at the panel gave this announcement a rapturous applause, and provided that writer and director Zack Snyder can now lend some heart and emotion after his soulless initial attempt with Man of Steel, then this project could well be one for the ages.
Man of Steel 2 will soar and glide into cinemas worldwide in Summer 2015. (And yes, that does mean that in just one year of cinema, we're getting The Fantastic Four, The Penguins of Madagascar, The Avengers 2, Assassin's Creed, Terminator 5, Pirates of the Caribbean 5, Superman Vs. Batman, Star Wars Episode VII, Ant-Man, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, Bond 24 and more in just one year!)
