DreamWorks' latest success franchise returns for another winning entry next year.DreamWorks Studios have today released the first theatrical teaser trailer (below) for their upcoming animated fantasy movie How To Train Your Dragon 2. Continuing the new series of adaptations of Cressida Cowell's children's novels, this second instalment in the animated franchise takes place five years after its predecessor, with Hiccup and his pet dragon Toothless now facing fantastical threats using their teamwork and intense friendship to the ultimate advantage.
Does it seem as if DreamWorks are simply over-emphasising their box office success franchises rather than building new ones these days? That's a fair argument, what with Ice Age 4 and Madagascar 3 both having hit cinemas recently, yet at the very least there seems to be a great deal more ambition present in this trailer alone than either of those predictable follow-ups offered last year. Perhaps DreamWorks do need new franchises, yet for now it seems that the studio has at least one dependable series that maintains consistent quality for adult and younger viewers alike.
