Ubisoft Montreal have today released a new gameplay demo video from their upcoming fantasy action video game Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The latest instalment in the hit historical franchise, Black Flag casts the player as Edward Kenway, grandfather to Assassin's Creed III's Connor and father to Haytham, on a buccaneering adventure entailing pirates, conspiracies and a moral dilemma like no other.
This latest footage (below) showcases Black Flag's seemingly innovative open-world gameplay. On our first non-mission excursion, we get the chance to see the 'seamless' interaction of land and sea environments, treasure hunting, assassin contracts and recruiting crew members, all powered by an impressive next-generation engine. It's important to recall, of course, that AC IV will land on current-generation consoles as well this Autumn, but in terms of the most powerful and visually spectacular version of the game, for obvious reasons the PS4 and Xbox One versions are the safest ports of call (see what I did there?).
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag retails on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, WiiU and PC on November 1st, with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions set to follow this Winter.
