The LEGO Movie Videogame Announced

The LEGO Movie gets a killer video game adaptation from the developers that revolutionized the kids' platformer!
Warner Brothers Games and Travellers' Tales have today announced the development of The LEGO Movie Videogame for release next year. Based on the events of the much-anticipated fantasy animated film of the same name, this new project is developed by TT Games, the team behind hit LEGO instalments from 2005's LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game to 2013's upcoming LEGO Marvel Superheroes, an entire franchise of unprecedented hit sequels and new instalments.

The campaign of The LEGO Movie Videogame will feature 15 levels, a similar number to other hit LEGO titles. Whether a free-roaming world a la LEGO The Lord of the Rings' Middle-Earth or LEGO Marvel Superheroes' New York City will be included to increase replay value after the main narrative remains to be seen, but on the basis of recent efforts such as their Tolkien excursion and LEGO City Undercover, fans can bet that the story won't end with the story, so to speak! As per usual, the series' traditional platforming gameplay will consist of the bulk of the experience, with a few genre surprises sure to come along the way.

The LEGO Movie Videogame will retail for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Nintendo WiiU, Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita in Spring 2014.
