2011 Kinect Games To Watch #2: Child Of Eden
Haven't heard of Child of Eden? I'm not surprised, but now you have take a look around the web for some previews of Kinect's most dazzling title in the first half of 2011. Go on, I'll wait...back, or couldn't be bothered? Basically, it's been developed as a sequel in all but name to psychedelic 2001 shooter Rez, where a virus had infected a peaceful virtual world, and it was your job on the Dreamcast or PlayStation 2 to shoot the infected parts while travelling through varying data portals of colour and sound. Now picture that with the Xbox 360 Kinect, where your hands control an automatically firing weapon to wipe out those pesky viruses once more (now more resistant than before!) and you should begin to see why Child of Eden could top the charts. If, for some reason, that doesn't take your fancy, then know this- you can head to the game's official Facebook page, upload a photo of yourself and developer Q Entertainment will do their best to make sure you are somewhere in the game's victory sequence where thousands of photos fly towards the screen in a pretty awesome visual display. Should you not have shelled out £130 last year for Kinect and have no intention of doing so, that needn't stop you either as the entire game can also be played with your Xbox 360 (or PS3) controller with no hassle. So go out and place your pre-order now for the June 1st release- go on, I'll wait...
