Glee: The Rocky Horror Glee Show Review (5/5)
This is more like it! It's become clear ever since Glee first hit our screens that more time, cash and frankly effort are put into the 'big' episodes of each season, for example the opening story, one or two major hitters midway and the finale. This time around, there's certainly been an attempt to make sure that the smaller episodes are still enjoyable, but ever since the season opener Audition (5/5) things have been pretty average. As soon as The Rocky Horror Glee Show opened, it was obvious we were in for one of those landmark stories that really pulls out the stops, and while the usual hormonal plot niggles that have plagued the show since its inception still cropped up again, at least there was a strong musical frenzy to back the episode up. Predictably enough, the story was based around songs from the Rocky Horror Picture Show of old (including everyone's favourite 'Time Warp'), and the choreography and direction found in each showed a real contribution from the entire cast and crew, plus a profound dedication to the source material Glee borrowed from this week. There were some great Halloween costumes on show (despite the episode being a few months out of date for UK viewers): Kurt did a wonder wearing his bald cap, Mercedes looked the part as the mad tranvestite from Transylvania and Dianna Agron was working that french maid outfit as Quinn...ahem, back to business. Jane Lynch was on fine form as ever, portraying Sue Sylvester as the antagonist you can't help but love and laugh with. The Rocky Horror Glee Show was definitely the best episode of Series 2 so far (and quite possibly ever on the programme), and that Jayma Mays finally gets a song in as Emma- and a corker to boot- further cements this as a Glee instalment to go down in history as a favourite!

That I forgot to mention Meatloaf's short but sweet cameo shows how packed and great an episode this week's was!
