Black Swan Composer For Mass Effect 3
Mass Effect 3 is fast becoming one of the most anticipated releases of 2011, and we now know that a new composer will be taking over from Jack Wall to complete Bioware's science-fiction gaming trilogy in musical style. Clint Mansell, who recently composed the soundtrack for BAFTA winner Black Swan (more on the awards later), will take the helm on ME3's soundtrack, building on Wall's timeless and haunting pieces from the original Mass Effect (8/10) and hit sequel Mass Effect 2 (10/10) to ensure that the tale of Shephard enlisting help from the alien races he has saved in the past to wage all-out war on the Reaper armada invading Earth is as moving and engaging as humanly possible. Every loose end from the finale's predecessors will be tied up here, so it's vital that every aspect of Mass Effect 3 is top notch, as seen in the change of composer to one of such obviously high calibre. Let's just hope, however, that Mansell is over the strangely harrowing ballet tunes of Black Swan and ready for some seriously loud compositions!
