The Amazing Spider-Man Revealed

Spider-Man fans desperate for new info on the 2012 reboot got a double whammy today as the title of the latest big screen version of the webbed wonder and the first image of his full costume have been released by Columbia Pictures. The movie, due out next Summer, will be named The Amazing Spider-Man and focus on alter-ego Peter Parker's high school years as he discovers his newly gained spider powers (yes, again) and pits his skills against the menacing Lizard while trying to woo crush Gwen Stacy. Spidey himself is played by rising star Andrew Garfield- see The Social Network and the New York two-parter in Doctor Who Series 3 for evidence- and Gwen and the Lizard will be portrayed by the relatively more famous stars Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans respectively. We can see from the first shot of the new costume that the Webbed Wonder's eyes on the mask are now a golden tint, and that he'll utilise mechanical web shooters to fight the baddies in the revamped film franchise. It might be quite some time until the first trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man surfaces, but true believers should keep checking back on this blog for all the latest on the reboot!
