New Assassin's Creed To Be Unveiled In May

The name and setting of the next Assassin's Creed have been shrouded in secrecy since Ubisoft Montreal revealed that a new instalment in the franchise would hit in 2011, and the first details of the sequel (currently titled 'Assassin's Creed III') will remain hidden for a little longer- until May, at least. Ubisoft revealed today that a full press conference will be held in three months time to unveil the title, protagonist and timeframe of the third full Assassin's Creed, and although that's pretty much everything we know, it's at least more than we've known for months now! Presumably, there'll be even more sections set in modern day this time as Desmond is now becoming a fully fledged Assassin, but we can't help thinking that the game will still stay for the majority centred on a killer of the past to keep the sense of the hooded figure stalking his enemies from the shadows (Desmond really doesn't yet give that impression). We do, however, know that another handheld AC title will be released for the Nintendo 3DS: called Assassin's Creed: Lost Legacy, it will serve as a side story to last year's Brotherhood (10/10) as Ezio travels to Jersualem to discover the origins of the Assassin's Order. More on that and the exciting sequel very soon!
