Two And A Half Men Cancelled

Did you ever think it would be a good idea to join a TV show, earn millions of dollars each episode and then call the creator of said programme a "turd" and a "clown"? Me neither, but that's exactly what actor Charlie Sheen has done, causing the cancellation of filming the remainder of Series 8 of Two And A Half Men. Speaking on a US radio station, Sheen said: "I've spent the last decade effortlessly and magically converting [Chuck Lorre, the creator of the show]'s tin cans into pure gold, and the gratitude I get is this charlatan choosing not to do his job, which is to write". Pretty harsh words, although some are putting them down to the actor not yet being fully recovered from his drug rehabilitation that put the series' production on hiatus this month, and soon after broadcasters CBS and Warner Bros said that they chose to stop filming "based on the totality of Sheen's statements, conduct and condition". Will Two And A Half Men return to our screens later this year, in 2012, or indeed ever? Charlie seems to think so, urging his "beautiful and loyal fans who have embraced [Men] for almost a decade" to "walk with [him] side-by-side as we march up the steps of justice to right this unconscionable wrong". Clearly, though, in the end it's up to the show producers to decide whether Sheen can really handle another season of filming- but certainly it'll be one of television's biggest shames if Two And A Half Men doesn't return for a final send-off.
