Star Wars: Detours Trademarked

Most Kinect owners have been wondering just what shape or form the Xbox 360-exclusive Star Wars game set for release this Christmas will take, and a trademark name given today by LucasArts Studios might give some indication of where it will head. Star Wars: Detours is going to be a video game spin-off, we know from source CVG, and the name has been trademarked under two areas: merchandise (e.g. children's pencil cases) and video gaming. Could it be that the Kinect-exclusive will launch a big new spin-off franchise for LucasArts? That would seem somewhat accurate, since the initial video of Star Wars Kinect incorporated elements from across the saga that in any other form of George Lucas' film saga would seem like a mish-mash of continuity errors, so maybe Detours means that LucasArts are going off the beaten path for their next video game. Either way, with a Christmas release set for Star Wars Kinect, we shouldn't have long to wait until we at least find out what the game is about and possibly what Detours actually is and how it will influence the saga.
