Medal of Honor 2 Confirmed
Fresh off the overwhelming success of the 2010 Medal of Honor reboot, gaining a massive 5/10 here and grossing nearly 1/20th of Call of Duty: Black Ops' sales, it's only natural that developer Danger Close Studios has just announced a sequel for release in late 2011, isn't it? Okay, cynicism aside, there's every chance the EA LA-sub studio could learn from its mistakes in the Afghan-set original, this time providing a modern warfare experience that has some true depth and realism, not to mention actually paying some respect to the brave troops out fighting that conflict at this very moment. The problem, though, doesn't lie in the improvements made for Medal of Honor 2; this year is jam-packed with triple A video game experiences that could easily shift the foundations of their respective genres- even Modern Warfare 3 could struggle to garner as much popularity as previous CoDs when the likes of Gears of War 3, Mass Effect 3, Elder Scrolls V, Batman: Arkham City, Star Wars Kinect and tons of as of yet unannounced titles storm retailers in the second half of the year. If MoH2 wants to turn the tide for its franchise and the FPS genre as a whole, it needs to do something big. Over to you, Danger Close...
