Bourne To Be Different?Despite the fact that Matt Damon appears to have taken temporary leave from the Bourne franchise, Jeremy Runner's turn as secret agent Aaron Cross in the 'reboot' The Bourne Legacy is looking like an intriguing movie to watch for 2012, especially judged by the first teaser trailer released today. The preview depicts Cross being recruited by an unnamed agency to take on a new mission, while those agents already in the know debate Cross' viability in comparison to the missing series protagonist Jason Bourne (Damon) as their new recruit battles guards and enemy artillery aplenty. We'll see whether Legacy is at risk of reusing age-old action thriller cliches and setpieces, but at the moment I can see no reason why this won't be a solid (if ever-so-slightly predictable) continuation and/or restart of a brilliant series of movies. The Bourne Legacy's current UK box office release date is August 17th; watch the teaser for it below.
