The best comedy movie of the year?...
In a month so packed with small but vital releases as February, it's intriguing to whittle away the bad (Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance), the average (Syndicate, Chronicle) and the good (Kingdoms of Amalur; Star Wars 3D) to be left with one ultimate winner for Best Release. This time around, it has to be The Muppets- a comedic masterclass of self-gimmerckery, wonderfully cheesy stereotypes that aren't ashamed to be just that and a variety of laugh-a-minute musical numbers, all combining to make one of the best comedy films I've seen in a long, long time. The 'U' rating may seem a little offputting, but that many kids in showings I've heard about were seen to be bored whilst teens my age and adults were bellowing with laughter just goes to show how much this one will appeal to the older audience. The Muppets is still on at the cinema, so I seriously urge you to indulge yourself by going to have a great night out watching it if you haven't done so already!
