Does this trailer manage to do whatever a spider can?
As we near ever closer to the Summer release of the Amazing Spider-Man film reboot, we should bear in mind that we're also getting a video game epilogue to the movie alongside it as well. Taking place shortly after the events of the new superhero origins story, the title sees Spider-Man battling old enemies such as Rhino in new guises and an evil robot army rampaging on New York that's been masterminded by none other than Oscorp Industries. Developer Beenox are already teasing a cool 'Web Rush' mechanic that allows players to utilise their Spider Sense and perform impressive film-esque manavoueres and moves, and while this mechanic doesn't seem to be shown off in the latest released trailer (below), we do get a look at Rhino's new costume and some of the free-roaming gameplay around the world of New York. Can it live up to the lofty heights many fans remember of Spider-Man 2? Having gone back to that game, I realised even that was rather flawed, so Beenox have some work to do to impress us enough to love Spidey's video game entries once again. The Amazing Spider-Man: The Game will presumably retail close to the movie's July 7th release date.
