A sequel to 2010's fun SEGA-helmed racer is on the way!
Sonic & SEGA All Stars Racing (8/10) actually turned out to be quite a lovable Mario Kartalike when it hit game retailers two years back. It clearly performed well in sales, but the critics applauded it too, making for an all-round surprise success for SEGA's new franchise. And thus, here we are: the publisher and developer has announced that a sequel is going to debut in stores later this year. The news was broken by Kotaku, who spoke to SEGA's press team at the American Toy Fair, where they confirmed that Sonic & SEGA All Stars Racing 2 is indeed set for release in late 2012. No more details were given, but it wouldn't be unthinkable to presume that Racing 2 will release on Nintendo's new WiiU console (possibly part of the launch line-up), as well as 3DS, PS3, 360 and PSVita this Autumn. Keep an eye on the blog for the first concrete details on this exciting project...
