A tribute to a woman who changed the face of countless genres of music for three decades, and who will never be forgotten by her industry or the world.I never had the chance to connect with the music of Whitney Houston in the same way I have with Queen, Keane, Meatloaf, Coldplay or any of the other artists I hold in such high regard to this day, yet the loss of such an iconic musical legend's impact on this thriving industry is one that cannot be understated, sure to leave millions of fans devestated for months to come. From her dazzling cover of Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You to her recent greats like I Look To You and Million Dollar Bill, Houston's influence on the modern world of melodies has been absolutely profound, and no matter what the circumstances or causes of her demise, it is certain that she will be remembered for every brilliant step forward she took rather than the alluded-to darker moments of her lifetime. Her passing on today, February 12th 2012, will be remembered as a tragic event at the opening of the year. We have lost one of the industry's most talented and soulful women today, but I'm sure we can agree that Whitney Houston will never be forgotten. Rest in peace.
