And you thought it was all over...
Remember watching that final shot of Smallville's Finale last November, as Clark Kent destroyed Apokolips and finally rose to his destiny to become the Man of Steel? It turns out that wasn't nearly the end for the show, not by a long shot- DC Comics have today announced that series producer Bryan Q. Miller will pen a series of comic books essentially forming the superhero drama's eleventh season! "The new comic book series picks up where the show left off," says the press release, "(with Clark officially now as Superman!) and features fan-favorite characters including Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, Chloe Sullivan-Queen, Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, and General Lane. Six months after Clark Kent donned the cape and took to the skies to save from Apokolips...enter Season 11! New allies abound! New enemies afoot! And old friends return when they're least expected! [We] couldn't be more excited to help give seasoned viewers and new readers an all-access pass to Clark's first year in the cape." It should be great to see what DC can do with this new 'origins' series of comics, and so long as things don't get too similar to the actual Superman universe so as to repeat the classics, I can't wait to see 'Smallville Season 11' as it begins to hit digital retailers starting April 13th.
