Fang score, and seven lifetimes ago...Apparently, we've got Abraham Lincoln all wrong. Far from being the kindhearted, ultimately tragic American President we've been told the stories of in the past, apparently he spent his nights out hunting for creatures from Transylvania to protect his country by any means necessary...or at least that's how the new fantasy film Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is chosing to pitch him. Whether this bold new approach to fantasy filmmaking of taking an iconic figure and turning him into an antihero of sorts will work remains to be seen, but it sure as heck is an innovative one in a Summer chockfull of paint-by-numbers sequels and reboots, and that innovation is definitely as refreshing as it is risky.
