Warner Brothers Pictures have this week released a second full trailer for their upcoming action movie 300: Rise of an Empire. A sequel to Zack Snyder's 2007 hit 300, the film's narrative will both precede and succeed the events of Leonidus' rise to fame and his swift demise at the hands of the deadly (and rather overweight) Xerxes.
It should probably go without saying that Gerard Butler, Dominic West and the other unlucky 298 souls who charged into war in Snyder's outing aren't back to reprise their roles, but Rise's cast does still house more than a few worthy descendants. Casino Royale's Eva Green, Game of Thrones' Lena Headey and Strike Back's Sullivan Stapleton are its headline stars, and although the new preview (below) hardly demonstrates the promise of an outright classic, action-fantasy fans will be in good hands by the looks of it nevertheless. If they so desire, fans can of course prepare by practising their proclaiming of Leonidus' iconic battle cry, or even giving the less-than-spectacular parody Meet The Spartans a try for good measure (we've even included the teaser trailer for the Epic Movie follow-up below to get you started!).
300: Rise of an Empire mans the barricades in cinemas worldwide from March 7th.
