Caesar's campaign to rule Earth continues, plus the Natural History Museum's artefacts are back up and at 'em...
20th Century Fox have this week announced the official worldwide release dates of Night At The Museum 3 and the third instalment in their rebooted Planet of the Apes film franchise. The former takes Ben Stiller, Ricky Gervais and the rest of the Natural History Museum's endearing ensemble of living artefacts to our very own British Museum for further lighthearted comedy escapades, while the latter flick will follow on from the events of this Summer's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
If it wasn't already obvious, then Fox's confirmation that these two follow-ups are on the horizon all but guarantees that the studio's immediate focus is on sequels, prequels and the like. With Rio 2, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Night At The Museum 3 comprising their main big-screen releases of 2014, it's evident that franchise continuation is a key priority, although original efforts such as The Fault In Our Stars and Mr Peabody and Sherman do still indicate that traces of innovation reside at Fox nonetheless.
Night At The Museum 3 opens its exhibitions in cinemas worldwide on December 19th, and Planet of the Apes 3 swings into auditoriums on July 29th, 2016.
