BBC One have today released a promotional trailer of upcoming TV shows new and old set to broadcast on the channel in 2014. Amongst those featured in the clip (below) are Doctor Who, The Voice, Sherlock, The Musketeers and Atlantis, though these represent just a minute proportion of the overall programming in place for the BBC's mainstream television broadcaster.
Should viewers be concerned that the TV schedules will become something of a void in the early weeks of this year, BBC One's immediate line-up is reason enough to put any doubts to rest. Sherlock continues transmitting until January 12th, when The Voice, Call The Midwife and The Musketeers each pick up the gauntlet to take the channel through until the beginning of Spring, at which point other unannounced drama projects will be revealed. Doctor Who's eighth season will then air from August onwards for (at least) a 12-episode run, and the sci-fi drama will likely share the Saturday primetime slot for the Autumn with Atlantis and Strictly Come Dancing once those two BBC mainstays return to the small screen.
For all the latest news, reviews, features and previews of BBC programming, stay tuned to On-Screen in the weeks ahead!
