Paul Rudd is Scott Lang, but just who will play Hank Pym in the 2015 film?
Marvel Studios have today announced a new guest star set to feature in the cast of their upcoming superhero film Ant-Man. Currently scheduled to début in cinemas shortly after the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, the flick will star Anchorman: The Legend Continues' Paul Rudd as the Scott Lang version of the titular character.
That's just one development in Marvel's gradual release of teasers for the movie, but of more significance to us right now is the newly announced guest star in question: Michael Douglas. At 70 years old, Douglas has a hefty big-screen career behind him, including award-winning turns in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and Behind The Candelabra, yet the news that he will take on the role of Hank Pym (aka the scientist day-to-day alter-ego of the original Ant-Man) is rather unexpected, particularly given that it means that two incarnations of the character are housed in the same motion picture. All the same, with Rudd and Douglas on performing duties and Edgar Wright at the helm, we're already looking at a potential hit that should kick Marvel's Phase Three series of films off with a bang.
Ant-Man crawls into cinemas worldwide on July 31st, 2015.
