Walt Disney Pictures have today unveiled the first image and plot synopsis for their upcoming short film Party Central. A spiritual successor to 2012's impressive prequel Monsters' University, the flick will run ahead of screenings of Muppets Most Wanted later this year.
The studio's first promotional picture (above left) depicts the remnants of the university's Oozma Kappa fraternity club, who find themselves reunited with series protagonists Mike and Sully in an effort to put on the most monstrous college party yet. Here's the official plot brief: "Mike and Sully return to Monsters' University for a fun-filled weekend with their Oozma Kappa fraternity brothers. The gang is throwing their first party, but no one's showing up. Luckily for them, Mike and Sully have come up with a plan to make sure that "Party Central" is the most epic party the school has ever seen." If Disney's previous prologue films Paperman and The Blue Umbrella are anything to go by, then expect a hidden gem to emerge here before the Muppets' latest cinematic venture even kicks off...
Party Central will screen alongside Muppets Most Wanted in UK cinemas from March 28th.
