Relativity Media have today released the first theatrical trailer for their upcoming horror film Oculus. First shown at the Toronto Film Festival, the movie will get its debut in UK cinemas at a currently unannounced date later in 2014.
Until then, the video (below) confirms that Doctor Who's Karen Gillan will take on the role of the piece's protagonist. Karen played the character of Amy Pond in the BBC science-fiction drama between 2010 and 2012, and went on to become the lead actress in David Solomons' October 2013 film Not Another Happy Ending. It's safe to say that her character Kaylie will be entering altogether darker territory here, though, as a mysterious force that has haunted her since childhood threatens to break its way through the mirror and commence its reign of chaos thereafter!
Oculus triggers five years of bad luck in US cinemas nationwide on April 11th, with the UK release date still TBC.
