BBC Books have this week announced the release of Doctor Who: Tales of Trenzalore on digital eReader devices. A new eBook set within the century-spanning narrative of the 2013 Christmas Special The Time of the Doctor, Tales comprises of four short stories penned by Justin Richards, Newbury & Hobbes' George Mann, The Bill's Paul Finch and Mark Morris.
What's more, these standalone accounts of the Eleventh Doctor's final battle on Trenzalore will each feature a classic Doctor Who adversary. Richards' Let It Snow houses an appearance from the Ice Warriors (The Ice Warriors, The Seeds of Death, The Curse of Peladon, The Monster of Peladon, Cold War), Mann's An Apple a Day stars the Krynoid (The Seeds of Doom), Finch's Stranger In The Outland packs a return from the Autons (Spearhead From Space, Terror of the Autons, Rose, The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang) and Morris' The Dreaming heralds a re-appearance from none other than the Mara (Kinda, Snakedance). Fans awaiting more teasers of the Twelfth Doctor's personality and costume will have to look elsewhere, but until those details come, Tales should more than suffice as a stop-gap retrospective on yet another brilliant incarnation of the Time Lord.
Doctor Who: Tales of Trenzalore retails for £2.49 on the Amazon Kindle store and other eReader marketplaces this February 27th.
