Left 4 Dead's Turtle Rock Studios return for a new online multiplayer experience!
2K Games and Turtle Rock Studios have this week reannounced the development of Evolve for release later this year. Originally set to be launched by THQ, this science-fiction multiplayer shooter was one of a number of in-development projects picked up by other publishers such as 2K and Ubisoft in the aftermath of the American publisher's closure in 2012.
Since that unexpected development setback, the product has gone firmly under the radar, with GameInformer's reveal cover (above) marking its first appearance in over a year. What little we do know at this stage is that developer Turtle Rock was behind the two acclaimed Left 4 Dead titles on Xbox 360, and that it has been in the works since late 2011. In other words, should Evolve be neglected just as much as when it was earlier this week, when a peculiarly Xenomorph-esque antagonist fronted the first teaser image at the same time as Alien: Isolation's announcement, then it will represent a colossal waste of time and cash for both its creators and its newfound publisher. No pressure, then.
Evolve will retail on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in Autumn 2014.
