Peter Parker's superhero alter-ego arrives on current-gen and next-consoles alongside his new film!
Activision and Beenox Games have today released the first promotional trailer for their upcoming superhero video game The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Intended as a tie-in to the film of the same name, the title's narrative will take place between the events of the 2012 reboot The Amazing Spider-Man and this Summer's villain-packed follow-up.
As with Beenox's last companion effort, the game will feature villains originating both from Spidey's motion picture instalments and from the character's vast comic-book history. The trailer itself (below) reveals that both Kraven the Hunter and Electro will star in the main campaign, with Peter Parker and his self-created Webbed Wonder's hunt for the man who killed Uncle Ben a core plot strand in this instance. The Amazing Spider-Man was a passable tie-in outing when it launched alongside the divisive first flick, but its open-world New York City (a refined version of which returns here) was soulless- devoid of citizens and surprises- and its combat repetitive, both fundamental hiccups which necessitate a rethink from Beenox if their second attempt at replicating the success of Andrew Garfield's web-slinger is to be a commercial hit.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings onto Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Nintendo WiiU, Nintendo 3DS and PC this Spring.
