Call The Midwife Series 3 TV Trailer Released

Fresh off its Christmas Special, BBC1's hit period drama returns for a new run.
The BBC have this weekend released a television trailer for the third series of Call The Midwife. Set to recommence broadcasting later this month, the period drama stars Jessica Raine, Miranda Hart and Jenny Agutter.

The show's central cast won't be alone in the new run, though. This first preview (below) confirms that Eastenders' Lacey Turner will make an appearance in one of the upcoming eight episodes, with other guest stars still to be revealed in the weeks ahead. Turner has most recently starred in the one-off military drama Our Girl, a series that will also return for a full five-episode season later in 2014. For now, however, period drama enthusiasts should have plenty to keep them enthralled in Downton Abbey's absence.

Call The Midwife returns to BBC One in late January.
