Despicable Me 3 Announced

Gru and his merry, hilarious army of Minions are back to resume havoc on the big screen.
20th Century Fox have this week announced the production of Despicable Me 3. The fourth instalment in the animated movie franchise will follow the release of the first series spin-off, Minions, next year, and will only serve to increase the ever-growing slate of CGI films in the works at the studio.

No casting details for the sequel have been confirmed as of yet, but such an omission can be forgiven when over two years separate us from experiencing the film itself. It'll be more than a shock if Steve Carrell, Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove and Russell Brand don't reprise the roles of their fan-favourite heroes from past instalment, though, and the ever-versatile Minion brigade are now such a fundamental element of the series (that they're getting their own film is testament to their grand appeal) that their absence would hold no commercial or critical merit whatsoever!

Despicable Me 3 freeze-rays viewers to their seats in cinemas worldwide on June 30th, 2017.
