Walt Disney Pictures have this week released the teaser trailer (below) for their upcoming superhero movie Big Hero 6. Inspired oh-so-loosely by the Marvel comic-book series of the same name (and we do mean very loosely- Marvel Studios aren't even receiving credit for this one, as Disney are virtually acting as if this is their own creation), this potential-laden flick will take place in Japan and follow six unlikely heroes who unite to battle a technological enemy using their unique array of super-powers.
After the widespread success of both Wreck-It Ralph and Frozen, it shouldn't come as a great shock to see that Walt Disney Animation Studios' latest production looks to boast the same level of ambition as those critically beloved films. Indeed, coming hot on the heels of those two surprisingly commercially empowered projects, not to mention this year's lauded superhero blockbusters including Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy, Big Hero 6 certainly needs to bring something new to the party if it hopes to create the same amount of ripples as its predecessors. This writer found himself laughing-out-loud (have no fear, you'll find no slang-inspired acronyms here!) on numerous occasions in the trail, though, and if that in itself doesn't show plenty of promise for the piece's potential, then we honestly don't know what will suffice in that respect!
Big Hero 6 will activate in US cinemas this November 7th and in UK theatres on January 30th, 2015.
