20th Century Fox have this week released the extended theatrical trailer (below) for their upcoming drama movie The Fault In Our Stars. An adaptation of John Green's novel of the same name, the film stars Shaliene Woodley (The Descendants; Divergent) as its cancer-afflicted protagonist Hazel Grace Lancaster, along with Ansel Elgfort and William Defoe (who you'll soon notice is virtually its only big-name star- not that this attribute will prove detrimental in this particular case).
Whereas Fault's teaser trailer became all too heavy-handed in its representation of both Lancaster's inevitably eschewed perception of her mortality and the film's romantic sub-plot, this second video clip strikes a remarkable balance between those tonally contrasting elements and transformers the prospect of watching the piece in its entirety into a far more appealing one as a result. Although Fox will probably be focused for the majority on ensuring that both X-Men: Days of Future Past and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes create ripples aplenty at the box office this Summer, don't be too surprised if this promising rendition of one of the finest teen novels of recent times turns out to be an unprecedented hit...
The Fault In Our Stars begins its treatment in cinemas worldwide this June 6th.
