Warner Brothers Pictures and director Zack Snyder have this week released a new promotional image for their upcoming sequel to 2011's Man of Steel. This still-to-be-named ensemble superhero blockbuster will star Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Ben Affleck as Batman and his human alter-ego Bruce Wayne.
The latter character is of central importance in this case, since Snyder has revealed the first official photograph of Ben Affleck in his full Dark Knight attire standing in front of his newly-redesigned Batmobile. Fans the world over have already praised the suit's resemblance to the incarnation of the costume which débuted in the classic comic-book arc The Dark Knight Returns, but we're withholding judgement for now as to be frank, our first impression was that it seemed uncannily similar to the not-so-loved Adam West version of the World's Greatest Detective! Stay tuned to On-Screen in the weeks ahead for more news on the film, its major players and its already-announced follow-up Justice League of America...
The second instalment in the Man of Steel cinematic franchise will collide with cinemas worldwide on May 6th, 2016.
