Sony Pictures and Columbia Pictures have this week released the teaser trailer for their upcoming thriller movie The Equalizer. Starring Flight's Denzel Washington and Let Me In's Chloe Grace-Moretz at the head of an otherwise up-and-coming ensemble of rising stars, this potent adaptation of CBS' beloved classic 1980s US TV series of the same name depicts the quest of an ex-secret agent (Washington) to save a scorned prostitute (Grace-Moretz) from the leagues of Russian Mafia gangsters who are in pursuit of her.
As was the case with Kick-Ass and Hugo, it's the immeasurably talented Grace-Moretz who's undoubtedly the main attraction here. Though her presence in the teaser (below) is minimal, she doesn't fail to steal the limelight in either of the sequences in which she appears, although Denzel Washington seems to be managing just fine in those set-pieces where he's on his lonesome (well, if you don't count the legions of foes surrounding him, of course) as well. Even if the infamously gruesome "sick-stick" sequence in Kick-Ass 2 wasn't her finest hour, Chloe seems to be on top form here, and at any rate, it can't possibly be any worse than Movie 43. *
The Equalizer takes audiences hostage in cinemas worldwide this September 26th.
