Agent 47 has found Absolution- where will his next adventure lead?
IO Interactive have this week released the first promotional image of their next Hitman video game. Though we've yet to discover the title of the sixth instalment in the studio's hit third-person-shooter stealth franchise (well, barring the recently-released iOS strategy app Hitman GO, that is), the signs are pointing pretty clearly to it being an exclusively next-generation product, not least since the screenshot in question (above) depicts a building which (IO claim) is bigger than any level seen in 2012's Hitman: Absolution.

The only other concrete piece of information we have right now (aside from that the narrative will pick up where Absolution left off) involves the game's marketing campaign, an aspect of the product's development which apparently won't kick into gear for some time yet. IO have confirmed that they will not make an appearance at E3 this year due to being too pre-occupied with pushing forward on the game-play experience itself. In fairness, they're apparently announcing this to avoid disappointment from fans when the various press conferences roll around and Hitman 6 is absent ("we know the worst thing is to hope for something which doesn't turn up," the developers said in their official press release), which is a noble gesture if nothing else, we suppose.

Stay tuned to On-Screen in the months ahead for all of the latest details on the latest Hitman title's console roster (the current plan is for it to retail on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC), gameplay mechanics and release schedule.
