Warner Brothers Pictures have released the theatrical trailer for their upcoming science-fiction thriller blockbuster Interstellar. Directed by Christopher Nolan (the man who gave us Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Inception and The Dark Knight Rises, in case you'd forgotten), the flick won't exactly have it easy when it comes to its release window, since The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies and Into The Woods are all set to launch within a few weeks of its Stateside début.
In its defence, though, Interstellar's release date has been set in stone for a far longer period of time than any of those other motion pictures, and with Dallas Buyers Club's Matthew McConaughey, Les Miserables' Anne Hathaway, The Italian Job's Michael Caine, Spider-Man 3's Topher Grace and Green Zone's Matt Damon representing just a few of its headlining performers, there's every chance that it'll hold its own against the competition. Our second full glimpse at the film (below) does little to elaborate on the identity of the (presumably extraterrestrial) threat which McConaughey's seemingly powerless protagonist Cooper will face off against, yet it does at least showcase the grand combination of CGI-fuelled spectacle and live-action drama which we've come to expect from Nolan's near-auteristic productions of late. If you'll excuse the pun, we'd wager that this one may leave its enemies stranded in the stratosphere...
Interstellar touches down in cinemas worldwide on November 7th.
