Andy Serkis and Jason Clarke lead the charge in the hottest fantasy blockbuster of 2014!
20th Century Fox have today announced the première date of the theatrical trailer for their impending fantasy film Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The long-awaited follow-up to 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes will once again star Andy Serkis as the increasingly intelligent primate leader Caesar along with newcomers such as Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman and Keri Russell (for those wondering, James Franco won't reprise his role as Caesar's human carer Will Roman, though Will is likely to receive a cameo via canned footage from Rise nonetheless).
What with all of the time they've been dedicating to promoting X-Men: Days of Future Past (out May 23rd) of late, it's something of a wonder that Fox are managing to keep in mind that Dawn is racing towards its cinematic release as well. The first teaser trailer for the film was a little underwhelming, if we're being brutally honest, not least since it essentially recycled promotional images which had been released in the run-up to its début whilst adding brief snippets of new footage here and then. Here's hoping that the theatrical trail ramps its ambition up a notch or ten, as we'd expect nothing less from the highly anticipated successor to our Film of the Year 2012...
The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes theatrical trailer will be released online next Thursday, May 8th, while the movie itself storms cinemas worldwide on July 11th.
