Bet your bottom dollar that the sun'll come out tomorrow with this cheerful new teaser!Columbia Pictures have today released the international theatrical trailer for their upcoming musical-comedy-drama film Annie. A loose remake of the classic 1982 movie of the same name, the flick stars Beasts of the Southern Wild's Quvenzhane Wallis as its titular kind-hearted protagonist along side The Amazing Spider-Man 2's Jamie Foxx, Knight and Day's Cameron Diaz and X-Men: First Class' Rose Byrne.
As risky scenarios go, re-adapting one of the most beloved West End musicals of all time after a big-screen rendition has already done such a fine job in the same position is up there with the most challenging of 'em. Thankfully, though, the original teaser trailer showcased plenty of promise in its teasing of updated song-and-dance numbers, its inclusion of more than a few spot-on contemporary satirical gags and its demonstration of the potency of the movie's central cast. With any luck, what could have been seen as a totally unnecessary reboot will turn out to be anything but in ten months' time.
Annie struts its stuff in UK cinemas nationwide in February 2015.
