New Doctor Who Season Eight Guest Star Announced

We've had Armstrong, now it's time for Doctor Who to get a bit of Miller!
The BBC have this week announced a new guest star set to feature in the latest season of their science-fiction drama Doctor Who. Set to broadcast later this year, the eighth run since the programme's 2005 revival will introduce Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor and Samuel Anderson as the TARDIS team's latest recruit, Danny Pink, alongside returning crew member Clara Oswald (who'll once again be played by Jenna Coleman).

As if it wasn't enough to have learned that Keely Hawes is on board for Season Eight in recent weeks, it's now official that Ben Miller will be amongst the guest cast in the run's first half. He'll play the central adversary in the Mark Gatiss-penned Episode 3, an instalment which (much like all of its counterparts at present) has yet to receive an official title, but purportedly alludes to the British legendary figure of Robin Hood (and, of course, his Merry Men). Word has it that Gatiss has scribed two episodes of Season Eight, although the League of Gentlemen writer did recently warn us on his Twitter account that one of the aforementioned scripts may not land on our screens until Season Nine in 2015.

Doctor Who will return with a new season of time-travelling adventures on BBC One this Autumn.
